The Maldives has been named the Indian Ocean’s Best Spa Destination 2025 at the World Spa Awards.

In addition to the national accolade, Maldivian resorts received recognition in several categories. Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi was named Indian Ocean’s Best Spa 2025, while JOALI BEING won the title of Indian Ocean’s Best Wellness Retreat 2025.

The Maldives has a strong record at the World Spa Awards. It was named World’s Best Spa Destination in 2016 and again in 2018, and has repeatedly secured the title of Indian Ocean’s Best Spa Destination, including in 2024 at the 10th Annual World Spa Awards.

The World Spa Awards, held annually, highlight excellence across the global spa and wellness industry through regional and international categories.
