First Lady calls on youth to develop skills in all areas of life

First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has emphasised the importance of developing skills across all areas of life, expressing confidence that Maldivian youth will embrace opportunities to build a capable and productive generation.
She made the remarks while speaking at the opening ceremony of the Maldives Polytechnic’s “Skill Fest”, held to mark the institution’s 50th anniversary. The First Lady said the Skill Fest serves as an open platform for learning and sharing Maldivian work skills and encouraged young people to take full advantage of the event.
In her speech, the First Lady reflected on the talent and resilience of past generations, noting that Maldivians have always adapted to global changes. She described Maldivians as among the most productive people at sea, highlighting the craftsmanship and technological skills of earlier generations.
Concluding her address, the First Lady commended the Maldives Polytechnic for its contributions to national development over the past five decades. She said that building a nation requires ideas and productivity and expressed gratitude to all those who have served the institution throughout its history.
