The Maldives and Türkiye have held discussions to enhance cooperation in the tourism sector. 

The talks took place between Minister of Tourism and Environment Thoriq Ibrahim and Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy on the sidelines of the World Travel Market (WTM) 2025 in London.

The meeting focused on expanding collaboration to boost tourism exchanges, promote investment opportunities, and explore new avenues for partnership between tourism stakeholders in both countries. The Ministers reaffirmed the long-standing friendship and close cooperation between the Maldives and Türkiye, highlighting the shared goal of advancing sustainable tourism and creating mutually beneficial opportunities.

Held during one of the world’s largest tourism industry events, the meeting is expected to further strengthen bilateral and economic ties between the Maldives and Türkiye, supporting future growth in the global travel and hospitality sectors.
