President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has underscored the importance of instilling good health habits from an early age to prevent non-communicable diseases, urging citizens to adopt healthier lifestyles.

He made the remarks in a social media post on the occasion of World Diabetes Day, observed annually on 14 November to raise global awareness about diabetes and related health risks.

In his message, President Dr Muizzu stressed that maintaining health should be a daily priority, encompassing balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and mindful routines. He noted that early education on healthy living is essential to preventing diseases and ensuring long-term wellbeing. The President also extended appreciation to non-governmental organisations and individuals working to promote public health awareness across the nation.

The Administration has been prioritising the establishment of a modern, high-quality healthcare system that emphasises disease prevention and positive behavioural change. Ongoing Government initiatives also focus on encouraging citizens to adopt healthier lifestyles as part of broader efforts to build a more resilient and health-conscious nation.
