President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the Bank of Maldives (BML) will install USD ATMs in 70 islands within the next three months, with the project expected to be completed by end of March. Speaking at the “Dhiveheenge Raajje” rally, the President said the initiative reflects the Administration’s commitment to ensuring equal access to services across the country, highlighting that development opportunities will not be limited to Malé but extended to tourism hubs and densely populated islands.

The President noted that his visits to numerous islands during the first two years of his presidency allowed him to observe the public’s needs firsthand, emphasising that the Government aims to make daily life easier for all citizens. He added that the rollout of USD ATMs exemplifies his Administration’s efforts to provide inclusive, nationwide financial services without regional discrimination.
