First Lady and Chief Guide Sajidha Mohamed participated in a special walk held to mark International Day of the Girl Child.

The walk was organised by the Maldives Girl Guides Association in collaboration with schools in Malé City. Participants walked from Chandhanee Magu to Majeedhee Magu and then to the Social Centre. A large number of Girl Guides, Little Maids, Stars, Young Leaders and leaders from various schools took part, carrying banners and posters expressing their thoughts, aspirations and hopes for the future.

In addition to the march in Malé, a parallel event was held in Hulhumalé on the synthetic track.
