The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has opened applications to rent stalls for the upcoming New Year’s Eve festival to be held in Hulhumalé.

HDC said a total of 80 stalls will be leased for the festival, with priority given to applicants who meet the eligibility criteria and submit online applications on a first-come, first-served basis.

According to the corporation, stalls will be rented at a fee of MVR 3,000 for six days, calculated at a daily rate of MVR 500.

HDC stated that registered businesses applying for a stall are required to submit a copy of their national identity card along with a copy of their SME registration certificate or a business profile sheet issued by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.

The operating hours for stalls have been announced as 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. from December 27 to December 29, 4:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. from December 30 to December 31, and 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on January 1, 2026.

Applications to rent a stall for the New Year’s Eve festival can be submitted online via the designated application form. HDC said applications will be accepted from 12:00 p.m. on 22 December, until 12:00 p.m. on 23 December 2025.
