Aasandha expands coverage to 18 providers for prescription glasses

Aasandha Company Limited has announced that Aasandha coverage for prescription glasses is now available at 18 service providers across the Maldives, including hospitals, clinics and optical shops.

Under the expanded arrangement, services for prescription glasses are now covered for prescriptions issued by the following registered clinics and service outlets:

  • ADK Hospital
  • Advance Eye Clinic
  • Advance Medical Clinic
  • Aims Diagnostic Care
  • Azim Naeem Medical and Diagnostic Centre
  • City Optical Clinic
  • Eye Care Clinic
  • Eye Care Clinic Hulhumalé Branch
  • Eye Care Hospital
  • Eye Care Hospital Hulhumalé Annex
  • Farooq Health Care
  • Maldicare
  • Medica Hospital
  • Noosandha
  • Senahiya
  • Treetop Hospital
  • Vision Clinic
  • Public Health Facilities

In addition, the Government has opened optical shops at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) and Hulhumalé Hospital to facilitate access to free prescription glasses under the Aasandha scheme.

The Government has also increased the subsidy for prescription glasses. Previously, beneficiaries were entitled to MVR 1,000 once every two years for glasses under health insurance coverage. Since June last year, this subsidy has been increased to MVR 2,000, expanding access to vision care services for the public.
