The Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology has announced that registered work sites which have not utilised foreign worker quotas for more than a year will be designated as inactive.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Ministry said that the measure forms part of efforts to strengthen the system for issuing permits and managing matters related to expatriate workers.

The Ministry said that among registered work sites, those with expired registrations will be classified as “pending site clearance” from Tuesday.

Employers have been instructed to reactivate expired job-related sites, renew relevant permits and update required information through the Xpat system.
