The Speaker of the People’s Majlis, Abdul Raheem Abdulla, has departed for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on an official visit from 19–24 January 2026, at the invitation of the Speaker of the Shura Council.

The Speaker is accompanied by a high-level parliamentary delegation comprising Mohamed Shahid, MP for Hulhudhoo Constituency; Hussain Riza Adam, MP for Maafushi Constituency; Ali Fazad, MP for Fuvahmulah Central Constituency; Azim Abdul Azeez, MP for Villingili Constituency; Fathimath Niusha, Secretary General of the People’s Majlis; Mohamed Rasheed, Deputy Secretary General; Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik, Chief of Bureau; and Zuyyina Badhree, Director of Foreign Relations.

The visit underscores the longstanding brotherly ties between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia. Both nations have consistently reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors.
