Maldivian Non-Resident High Commissioner presents credentials to Seychelles President

The newly appointed Non-Resident High Commissioner of the Maldives to the Republic of Seychelles, Masood Imad, has formally presented his Letters of Credence to President Dr Patrick Herminie at a ceremony held at the State House in Victoria.
During the ceremony, High Commissioner Imad conveyed greetings and best wishes from President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and the people of the Maldives to the President, Government and people of Seychelles. He expressed appreciation for the reception accorded to him and reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with Seychellois authorities to further strengthen bilateral relations.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, High Commissioner Imad highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation between the two countries in areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, fisheries and tourism, noting the shared priorities and potential for deeper collaboration.
President Herminie, in response, reiterated Seychelles’ commitment to enhancing its longstanding and cordial ties with the Maldives and expressed confidence that cooperation between the two countries would continue to grow during High Commissioner Imad’s tenure.
Following the presentation of credentials, High Commissioner Imad also paid a courtesy call on Vice President Sebastien Pillay as part of his official engagements.
High Commissioner Imad currently serves as the Maldives’ High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and will concurrently hold the position of Non-Resident High Commissioner to Seychelles and Mauritius, with residence in Colombo.
The credential presentation ceremony was attended by Seychelles’ Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Barry Faure and Director General Lindy Ernesta. High Commissioner Imad was accompanied by Ismail Mamdhooh, Minister-Counsellor at the Maldivian High Commission in Sri Lanka, and Lambert Bonne, Honorary Consul of the Maldives in Seychelles.
