The Ministry of Sports, Fitness and Recreation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) to develop multi-sports complexes in Vilimalé and Hulhumalé Phase 1 and Phase 2. The agreement was signed by Minister Abdulla Raafiu on behalf of the ministry and MACL CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed for the company. The initiative supports President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s vision to establish fitness and recreation centres nationwide by 2026, aimed at expanding access to modern sports facilities and promoting active lifestyles across the Maldives.
