The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO) deposited more than MVR 1.4 million to fishing vessels on Monday for fish purchases made on 31 January.

Figures released by MIFCO show that a total of MVR 1,448,768.70 was disbursed to 30 boats for fish supplied to the company.

Of this amount, MVR 1.01 million was paid for skipjack tuna purchased from 28 vessels. A further MVR 55,352 was paid for yellowfin tuna weighing over 10 kilograms from 14 vessels, while MVR 295,400 was disbursed to 15 vessels for yellowfin tuna weighing over 15 kilograms.
