Maldives Immigration has detained 10 undocumented expatriates as part of an ongoing operation to identify foreigners residing or operating in violation of regulations in the country.

In a statement, Maldives Immigration said a raid operation was carried out on Wednesday in the Hiyaa flat area of Hulhumalé Phase II, targeting expatriates suspected of conducting business activities unlawfully. During the operation, 95 expatriates were inspected, and 10 individuals found to be in breach of regulations were taken into Immigration custody.

As part of the ongoing crackdown, several illegal business operations and underground expatriate networks have also been dismantled.
