Islamic Ministry signs agreements for development projects across 14 islands

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has signed agreements with several companies to carry out Islamic development projects across 14 islands.

The projects form part of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's pledges to develop the Islamic sector nationwide. A special ceremony was held at the Islamic Centre yesterday to formalise the agreements, which were signed on behalf of the Ministry by Minister Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.

Among the projects signed, the development of Islamic Centre branches in Gaafu Dhaalu Gadhdhoo, Seenu Maradhoo, Kaafu Maafushi, Alifu Dhaalu Maamigili, and Meemu Mulah was awarded to Venza Company Pvt Ltd. The development of the Islamic Centre branches in Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo and Thaa Veymandoo was handed to Ayyabey Partners.

Works to establish Islamic Centre branches in Noonu Manadhoo, Raa Dhuvaafaru, and Noonu Velidhoo were awarded to White Link Pvt Ltd, which also signed an agreement to construct a mosque with a capacity of 500 in Gaafu Dhaalu Maamendhoo and a 300-capacity mosque in Noonu Feevah. The project to develop an Islamic Centre branch in Baa Eydhafushi was awarded to SAS e Construction Pvt Ltd.

These latest agreements bring the total number of projects in the Islamic sector to more than 90, encompassing branches of the Quran Centre and Islamic Centres across the country. President Dr Muizzu has placed particular emphasis on advancing Islamic development throughout the nation.
