Qasim endorses Moosa Ali Jaleel for Malé mayoral race

Jumhooree Party (JP) Leader and Member of Parliament Maamigili, Qasim Ibrahim, has endorsed Major General (Rtd) Moosa Ali Jaleel, who is contesting for the Malé City mayoral seat on a People’s National Congress (PNC) ticket in the upcoming local council elections, citing his long record of national service and leadership.

In a post on X, Qasim highlighted Jaleel’s role during the 3 November, 1988 attack, stating that he had demonstrated courage in defending the country, and noted that he has continued to serve the nation in various capacities under successive governments with integrity and commitment.

He also referred to Jaleel’s recognition through national honours, describing him as an experienced and capable individual with a strong reputation, while adding that his background in public service makes him well-suited for the mayoral position.

Qasim urged voters to support Jaleel in the upcoming election, calling on the public to vote for him as a candidate he believes can deliver effective leadership for Malé City.
