President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed have arrived in Sri Lanka on a State Visit.

They were received on arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport by Prime Minister Dr Harini Amarasuriya, where a welcome ceremony was held in their honour. The ceremony included a cultural performance, after which President Dr Muizzu signed the official guest book.

The visit is being undertaken at the invitation of Anura Kumara Disanayake and is scheduled to take place from 3 to 6 May 2026.

During the visit, President Dr Muizzu is expected to hold high-level discussions with Sri Lankan leaders aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across key sectors. These include education and vocational training, economic collaboration, governance, heritage, and engagement in international forums.

Both sides are also expected to witness the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding as part of the visit.
