The Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development has introduced an amendment enabling individuals registered as Malé residents for less than one year to apply for housing under the 'Housing for All' scheme.

In a post on X, the Ministry said the application form has been revised to extend eligibility to this group.

Under the updated criteria, applicants who have been registered in Malé for under a year may qualify if they meet the requirements set for individuals who have lived in the city continuously for 15 years.

Applicants are required to submit documentation verifying 15 years of uninterrupted residence in Malé, along with records indicating the date they first began living in the city.

The Government continues to pursue long-term measures to ease housing pressures, with multiple housing projects currently underway across the Greater Malé Region.
