President Dr Mohamed Muizzu was accorded an official ceremonial welcome at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo on Monday, as part of his ongoing State Visit to Sri Lanka.
President Dr Muizzu was received by Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Disanayaka, with the ceremony beginning with a gun salute. He then inspected a Guard of Honour presented by the Sri Lankan Tri-Forces.
Following the formal welcome, the two leaders took part in an introduction of delegations. President Dr Muizzu was introduced to members of Sri Lanka’s Cabinet and senior Government officials, while the Maldivian delegation was presented to President Disanayaka.
The ceremony also included an official photograph, after which President Dr Muizzu signed the Visitors Book.
First Lady Sajidha Mohamed attended the ceremony alongside Cabinet Ministers and senior Government officials from the Maldives.
President Dr Muizzu is visiting Sri Lanka at the invitation of President Disanayaka, with the visit featuring a series of high-level engagements focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Several Memoranda of Understanding are expected to be signed during the visit, aimed at expanding collaboration across key sectors.
