Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation has instructed residents to remove items placed illegally in public areas of the corporation’s housing towers developed in Hulhumalé.
In a statement issued to the media, the corporation said it had observed various items being stored in common areas within the 4,000 housing units developed under the project. According to FDC, such practices have caused inconvenience to residents and obstructed access to emergency spaces, including staircases and shared access points.
The corporation stated that storing items and waste in public areas is a violation of building usage regulations and has advised residents to remove all illegally placed items before 8:00 p.m. on May 15.
FDC further stated that items remaining in the area after the deadline would be removed by the corporation as part of cleanup efforts. The corporation also noted that it would not take responsibility for items removed during the process.
The housing units developed under the project are currently being occupied by residents, while infrastructure and service-related works continue in the area. Housing Development Corporation is also carrying out road improvement and related infrastructure works in the vicinity.
