High Commission hosts community-focused Eid Al-Adha celebrations in Malaysia

The High Commission of the Maldives in Malaysia hosted Eid Al-Adha 2026 celebrations, bringing together members of the Maldivian community from across the country in the spirit of unity, togetherness and festivity, on Wednesday.
The event was attended by Ambassador H.E. Dr Mariyam Shabeena Ahmed, High Commission staff, students from various universities and schools, as well as members of the wider Maldivian community residing in Malaysia.
The celebrations featured a lively programme of cultural performances and community activities, including traditional dances, Boduberu performances, sports activities, lucky draws and engagement activities for families and children.

Student communities from Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation, Sunway University, Taylor's Universityand Maldives National University also took part in the celebrations, presenting cultural performances that showcased Maldivian traditions and heritage.
The High Commission noted that the event reflected the strong sense of community among Maldivians living in Malaysia while also providing an opportunity for students and families to celebrate Eid together away from home.
The High Commission further expressed sincere appreciation to all volunteers, students, performers and members of the Maldivian community whose contributions helped ensure the successful organisation of the Eid Al-Adha 2026 celebrations in Malaysia.
