President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that achieving 100 per cent compliance with the proactive disclosure requirements of the Right to Information (RTI) Act marks a significant step towards advancing transparency, strengthening public access to information and enhancing accountability.

In a post shared on his official X account, President Dr Muizzu noted that this is the first time since the RTI Act came into force in 2014 that the President's Office and all Government ministries have achieved full compliance with the Act's proactive disclosure requirements.

The President stated that information which had previously not been accessible to the public has now been made available. He emphasised that transparency is not merely a policy objective, but a fundamental principle of democratic governance and public trust.

President Dr Muizzu expressed his gratitude to the institutions and public officials whose efforts contributed to reaching the milestone and reaffirmed the Government's commitment to improving public access to information through digital platforms.

He said these efforts would help encourage greater civic engagement in Government activities and decision making.

Government ministries, the Attorney General's Office and the President's Office achieved 100 per cent compliance with the proactive disclosure requirements under the RTI Act as of 7 June 2026.
