Police honour partners for outstanding support to law enforcement --

The Maldives Police Service has recognised a range of local and international organisations, Government institutions and individuals for their longstanding support and contributions to policing in the Maldives.

The commemorative awards were presented during the official ceremony held on Sunday evening to mark the 93rd anniversary of the Maldives Police Service.

The Commemorative Shield was awarded to organisations that have maintained close partnerships with the Police Service and provided valuable assistance to its work. The recipients were Allied Insurance, Maldives Post Limited, the High Commission of India, the Embassy of Japan, the Embassy of China, the British High Commission, the Australian Federal Police and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

The Embassy of the United States received the Commemorative Gold Plaque in recognition of its longstanding support and cooperation with the Maldives Police Service.

Commemorative Plaques were also presented to several Government agencies and private organisations for their continued assistance to police operations. The recipients included the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), Maldives Correctional Service, Maldives Immigration, Maldives Customs Service, Maldives Islamic Bank, the Criminal Court, Ooredoo Maldives, Public Service Media (PSM), Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) and Bank of Maldives (BML).

In addition, Ahmed Yasir of K. Kaashidhoo was presented with a Commemorative Plaque in recognition of his individual contributions and support to the work of the Maldives Police Service.
