Maldives, Saudi hold high-level talks on strategic defence partnership

The Maldives and Saudi Arabia have held high-level talks on strengthening bilateral defence cooperation and expanding strategic partnerships during Minister of Defence and National Service Hassan Rasheed's official visit to the Kingdom.

The discussions took place during a meeting between minster Hassan Rasheed and Saudi Arabia's Minister of Defence, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The two sides reviewed defence cooperation between the two countries and explored ways to further strengthen longstanding bilateral relations.

The ministers also exchanged views on regional and international developments, reaffirming their shared commitment to promoting regional security and stability. Prince Khalid bin Salman also reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's continued support for the development of the Maldivian defence sector.

Minister Hassan Rasheed expressed his appreciation to Prince Khalid bin Salman for the invitation to visit Saudi Arabia and for the hospitality extended to the Maldivian delegation during the visit.
