Jamiyyath Salaf and the Maavah Island Council have signed a four-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on religious awareness, community programmes and Islamic advisory services.
Under the agreement, the two parties will jointly organise religious awareness programmes and social workshops every three months. The memorandum also provides for the council to seek guidance on Shariah-related matters through Jamiyyathul Salaf's Council of Scholars when required.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Maavah Island Council by Council Member Fathimath Shehenaz, while Sheikh Mujthaba Hameed, Dawah Manager for the Atoll Division, signed on behalf of Jamiyyath Salaf.
The MoU was signed following a special lecture held at the Maavah Community Centre as part of the "Hafthaa Dharus" programme, organised in collaboration with the Maavah Island council and Women's Development Committee.
