The Elections Commission of Maldives has announced that five political parties have qualified to receive state funding in 2025. Each of these parties meets the statutory requirement of maintaining at least 10,000 registered members.

The qualifying political parties are the People's National Congress (PNC), Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), Adhaalath Party, Jumhooree Party, and Maldives Development Alliance (MDA).

A significant change has been implemented in the funding model, with allocations now based on projected annual revenue rather than the state budget. The funding range remains at 0.1 to 0.2 per cent. For reference, the current fiscal year saw MVR 44 million distributed amongst six political parties.
