Aara claims U-16 Singles Title at ATF Maldives Junior Open

Aara Aasal Azim secured the U-16 women’s singles title at the ATF Maldives Junior Open, defeating Hong Kong’s Hiu Lam Ella Wong in straight sets in the final held this morning.
Aara triumphed 6-2, 6-3 in a dominant performance, marking another major achievement in her tennis career.
Aara, who had already won the women’s singles and women’s doubles titles at the ATF Maldives Open earlier this month, showed her impressive form throughout the tournament.
The tournament, held at the Male' Tennis Court, is historic as the first-ever ATF-level tournament to be hosted in the Maldives, attracting over 30 players from diverse nations, including Kazakhstan, China, India, England, Brazil, and Hong Kong.
Local players have also showcased their talent, with 15 Maldivian athletes competing.
The Tennis Association of Maldives (TAM) has said this event is a crucial step in advancing the sport in the country, with plans for more international tournaments in the future.
Aara, who was recently named the Maldives Sports Awards 2023 Best Tennis Player, continues to prove herself as a rising star in international tennis, inspiring local talent and bringing attention to the growing tennis scene in the Maldives.
