President Dr Muizzu embarks on Huvadhoo Atoll tour

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu departed on the morning of January 7, for a three-day tour of Huvadhoo Atoll, marking an initiative in his 2024 pledge to engage directly with local councils across the nation.
During the visit, President Muizzu is scheduled to tour five islands in South Huvadhoo Atoll—Hoandehdhoo, Nadellaa, Vaadhoo, Fiyoari, and Rathafandhoo—and four islands in North Huvadhoo Atoll: Kan’duhulhudhoo, Nilandhoo, Maamendhoo, and Dhevvadhoo.
The inauguration of the water and sanitation network service on Hoandehdhoo island will take place during this trip. The President is also set to meet with citizens to discuss their developmental needs and aspirations,
In addition to public engagements, President Dr Muizzu will hold meetings with the councils of Maamendhoo and Dhevvadhoo. These discussions aim to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by residents and explore pathways to meet their developmental priorities.
The President is accompanied on the tour by Cabinet Ministers and senior Government officials. The visit is expected to conclude on January 9.
