President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has pledged that this year will focus on delivering the promises made during his campaign, with efforts aimed at fulfilling commitments across various islands and constituencies in the Maldives.

In his address to the residents of Gaafu Dhaalu Hoandehdhoo, the President assured the public that the Government's initiatives this year would produce tangible results. He stressed that the fulfilment of campaign promises, outlined in the manifesto, would be a key focus in the coming months.

President Dr Muizzu also outlined plans to start work across the nation, including in Hoandehdhoo, on the issues addressed in his campaign speeches. He emphasised the importance of engaging directly with communities, meeting residents, and addressing their concerns. The President stated that finding effective solutions to the public’s issues would remain a central priority for his Administration.

In addition to highlighting his commitment to fulfilling campaign pledges, President Dr Muizzu noted that this year's budget, developed with the support of Parliament, was specifically designed to fund these promises.

On the matter of financial disbursements, the President revealed that Government is committed to paying both domestic and international obligations responsibly, without causing the country to incur debt or devalue the currency.

As part of his visit, the President officially launched a new water and sanitation system in Hoandehdhoo, marking a significant development for the island.

President Muizzu’s three-day tour will continue with visits to several other islands, including Nadellaa, Vaadhoo, Fiyoari, Rathafandhoo, Kan'duhulhudhoo, Nilandhoo, Maamendhoo, and Dhevvadhoo.
