President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended his congratulations to Joseph Aoun on his election as the President of Lebanon.

In a message to the newly elected leader, President Dr Muizzu highlighted the strong bilateral ties between the Maldives and Lebanon, which are rooted in shared Islamic values and mutual interests. He expressed his commitment to strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

President Dr Muizzu wished President Aoun success in leading Lebanon towards peace and progress. He also extended personal wishes for the Lebanese leader’s health, happiness, and prosperity for the people of Lebanon.

Joseph Aoun, previously a senior commander in Lebanon’s armed forces, is noted for his efforts in combating terrorism, a significant aspect of his distinguished career.
