President arrives in Riyadh for Joint Arab-Islamic Summit

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu arrived in Riyadh to participate in the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit, at the invitation of King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
This high-level summit gathers leaders from the Islamic world to address urgent regional issues, particularly the escalating violence in Palestine and Lebanon.
President Dr Muizzu was welcomed by Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region, at King Khalid International Airport. His attendance underscores the Maldives' commitment to regional solidarity and peace.
The summit aims to coordinate responses to the ongoing Israeli aggression impacting Palestinian territories and Lebanon. President Dr Muizzu is scheduled to address the summit this afternoon, where he is expected to reaffirm the Maldives’ stance on a peaceful resolution to the conflict and express solidarity with affected communities.
This summit provides an important platform for collective action among Islamic nations, as leaders work together to address shared challenges and promote stability in the region.
