Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef on Tuesday night inaugurated the “Shades of Mind” art exhibition, a compelling initiative to foster awareness of mental health issues through the visual arts.

The event, held at the National Art Gallery, featured a presentation where the Vice President received a catalogue of the exhibits, followed by a photo session and an interactive tour. During the tour, he engaged with the young artists who contributed their works, gaining insight into the messages they aim to convey.

The “Shades of Mind” exhibition, organised by the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts, provides a creative platform for Maldivian youth to communicate the realities and challenges of mental health. By combining artistic expression with informative themes, the exhibition hopes to encourage a broader societal understanding of mental well-being.

Open to the public until 17th November, the exhibition presents a diverse range of artwork from Maldivian youth across the country. Visitors are invited to explore these perspectives and reflect on the vital role mental health plays in overall wellness. Through their art, the young contributors have crafted a thoughtful and impactful experience for all who attend.
