The Maldivian government has revealed plans to develop an island that will embody the country's cultural and social values, further enhancing its appeal as a domestic and international destination.
The island, currently used as a picnic spot just 15 minutes from Male’, will be transformed into a multi-faceted project named ‘Kinaaria’.
The Kinaaria development will consist of four distinct islands, each designed to offer unique experiences for visitors. The Integrated Tourism Island will feature private guesthouses, wellness and spa services, as well as floating restaurants, cafes, and water sports facilities, catering to those seeking relaxation and adventure. The Entertainment Island aims to introduce a new level of excitement to the Maldives, with attractions like waterslides, beachside cinemas, paintball arenas, and rock climbing. Lastly, the Camping Island will be the country’s first-ever dedicated camping destination, offering activities such as bonfires, hiking trails, and educational programmes.
Kinaaria promises to be a vibrant and diverse project, blending tourism, recreation, and cultural immersion to create a unique environment that reflects the true spirit of the Maldives.
