The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has deposited MVR 7.65 million to 48 fishing boats for their recent catch, fulfilling the Government’s commitment to pay fishermen within 48 hours. The company, which recorded 8,324 tonnes of fish weighed in January 2025—the highest in recent history—continues to streamline payment processes to support the fishing community. MIFCO assured that any remaining payments will be completed by the next banking day.
