Fifteen-year-old Mariyam Eashal Misbah made history as the first Maldivian shooter to reach the finals and win a medal at an Asian-level competition, securing silver in the Air Pistol Women’s Junior event at the Asian Rifle/Pistol Cup 2025 in Thailand. Competing at this level for the first time, the Majeedhiya School student set a new national record before excelling against top shooters from 21 countries. President Dr Mohamed Muizzu congratulated Eashal on her remarkable achievement, calling it a milestone for Maldivian sports and an inspiration for young athletes.
