Parliament has approved Thoriq Ibrahim as Minister of Tourism and Environment with 69 votes, following President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's nomination on February 10. The appointment comes after the merger of the Ministry of Climate Change, Environment and Energy with the Ministry of Tourism on 1 February. Minister Thoriq had already begun his role at the start of the month before the formal parliamentary approval.
