President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has issued a Presidential Decree designating Thaavathaa Island as part of Meedhoo Island and Ufulandhoo Island as part of Maduvvari Island in Raa Atoll, amending a previous decree from February 5, 2025. The decision, made under the Decentralization Act, aims to address land shortages and facilitate economic activities while mitigating health and environmental risks.
