The Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology has deported 6,076 foreigners as part of a nationwide crackdown on illegal immigration and related crimes. In collaboration with Maldives Immigration and the police, authorities are conducting frequent raids, door-to-door inspections, and workplace monitoring to track undocumented immigrants. As part of Operation Kurangi, biometric data of 43,294 foreigners has been collected, with employers urged to update records before March 1, 2025.
