The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has suspended three Supreme Court judges—Azmiralda Zahir, Mahaz Ali Zahir, and Husnu Al Suood. While the reason for suspension remain undisclosed, the decision came just moments before a scheduled hearing on a constitutional amendment related to the Anti-Defection Act, which has since been canceled. The suspensions follow a recent Parliamentary resolution to reduce the Supreme Court bench from seven to five judges, mandating the JSC to recommend two judges for removal within five days.
