Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded a land reclamation contract by the government for a new airport development in Thaa Guraidhoo.

The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure, where the State Minister, Ibrahim Thoaam Mohamed and MTCC's Managing Director, DCP (Retired) Ahmed Saudee, signed on behalf of their respective institutions.

Under the scope of works, MTCC will undertake comprehensive land reclamation operations necessary for the airport's construction. The project also includes critical shore protection measures to safeguard the reclaimed area against coastal erosion.

This initiative fulfils one of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's Presidential pledges and is part of his broader commitment to expanding transportation infrastructure across the Maldives' atolls.
