Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef has stated that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's Administration has garnered substantial international recognition for its progressive policies and strategic diplomatic initiatives.

In an interview on the "Hafuthaa 52" programme by PSM News, the Vice President highlighted the Government's transformative journey since assuming office, emphasising that all policy measures and initiatives are meticulously crafted to enhance the quality of life for all Maldivian citizens.

The Vice President noted that the most significant challenge when President Dr Muizzu assumed office was the sovereign debt crisis that had severely constrained fiscal operations. He added that through calculated diplomatic engagements and prudent financial planning, the Government has achieved remarkable progress in managing this predicament.

"We have not just strengthened our relationships with creditor nations; we have fundamentally transformed them," the Vice President elaborated. "Through our refined foreign policy, we are witnessing unprecedented levels of international cooperation. These achievements represent a significant shift in how the Maldives is perceived on the global stage."

According to the Vice President, President Dr Muizzu's most notable quality has been his unwavering commitment to inclusive governance, highlighting the President's steadfast practice of stakeholder consultation before implementing policy decisions.

Looking towards the future, the Vice President revealed ambitious plans for several strategic development projects, with a particular focus on addressing housing challenges, for which a large portion of the budget has been allocated.

Furthermore, he emphasised that the Government is implementing sustainable, long-term solutions that will benefit generations to come. As the Maldives advances its economic and social transformation agenda, the Administration maintains its unwavering focus on building a resilient, prosperous and inclusive society while fostering robust international partnerships.
