Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, is set to resume its Airbus A320 operations to Addu City next month, with flights commencing on 10 April.

The airline announced that there will be two weekly flights between Malé and Addu, operating every Thursday and Saturday. Maldivian previously provided A320 services on this route but had temporarily suspended operations due to scheduled maintenance.

In response to increased demand during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, Maldivian has expanded its domestic flight schedule. Between 29 March and 5 April, an additional 30 flights will be operated, supplementing the usual services. Of these, eight flights will be allocated to Addu City.

The airline has also planned additional seaplane operations to cater to the holiday period. Services will include routes to Baa Fehendhoo and Baa Fulhadhoo, ensuring greater connectivity during Eid celebrations.

The Government continues to focus on expanding air travel services and increasing available destinations. As part of efforts to enhance international operations, an Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft has been introduced. Another wide-body aircraft is expected to join the fleet later this year.
