Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skill Development to strengthen the nation’s skilled workforce.

The MoU was signed by MACL CEO Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed and Higher Education Minister Dr Maryam Mariya. The ceremony was attended by officials from MACL, the Ministry, and major organisations like MWSC, Villa Resorts, and Universal Resorts.

Ibrahim Shareef highlighted MACL’s need for specialised skills at Velana International Airport (VIA), expressing hope that the initiative would help meet these needs by training skilled workers. Minister Dr Mariya emphasised the importance of combining education with practical work experience, aligning with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s vision for youth development.

This year, MACL organised 'MACL Career 2024' for students and participated in the Dhaalan Career Expo to raise awareness about career opportunities at VIA.

The partnership marks a step towards equipping young Maldivians with the skills needed for a successful future.
