Discussions have been held to strengthen military ties between Maldives and Pakistan. These discussions took place during Defence Minister Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon's current visit to Pakistan, where he is participating in the 12th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS 2024).

According to the Ministry of Defence, Minister Ghassan met with Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir. During this meeting, both leaders discussed ways to further strengthen military cooperation between the two nations.

IDEAS 2024 is an important event aimed at strengthening military ties and identifying opportunities for cooperation among regional countries. It is noted that 38 countries are participating in this year's seminar.
