Work has commenced on levelling football fields in Haa Alifu Kunburudhoo and Ihavandhoo as part of a national initiative to improve sports infrastructure across the Maldives.

The Road Development Corporation (RDC), which is overseeing the projects, confirmed that site preparation at the Huravee Football Ground in Ihavandhoo is underway, alongside field levelling efforts in Kunburudhoo under its Futsal Field Development Project.

The developments follow the recent completion of turf installation at the Maduvvari football field in North Maalhosmadulu on May 25. These projects are among several being carried out nationwide by RDC, as part of the Government’s broader commitment to expanding access to modern sports facilities.

The initiative supports President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s pledge to enhance community-level sports infrastructure across the country within the current five-year term.
