The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has officially announced the opening of nominations for the appointment of a public member.
According to the JSC’s announcement, the nomination period begins today, and interested candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria to be considered.
Applicants must be practising Muslims and native citizens of the Maldives. Additionally, candidates must be at least 30 years old and must not have been convicted of any offence that contravenes Islamic law, or of fraud or bribery.
In accordance with the Commission’s regulations to ensure impartiality and independence, prospective nominees must not hold political office, be affiliated with any political party, or engage in political party activities. Candidates must also be of sound mental health.
Those wishing to apply are required to submit a complete application, which must include duly filled debt and criminal record forms, along with copies of their national identity card and educational certificates.
Completed applications must be submitted to the Parliamentary Office by 12:00 p.m. on July 3.
