The Maldives Police Service has confirmed the arrest of four individuals in Rae Dhuvaafaru in connection with a drug possession case, as part of a wider crackdown on narcotics-related crime in the region.

The arrests took place during two separate operations conducted from July 7 to 9. According to police, officers recovered packets containing substances suspected to be illegal drugs during searches of the individuals.

The first suspect, a 25-year-old man, was detained on July 7. The remaining three individuals aged 31, 37, and 51 were apprehended during follow-up operations two days later. All four suspects were ordered to be remanded in judicial custody for 30 days while the investigation continues.
