Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Khaleel, and Speaker of Parliament Abdul Raheem Abdulla paid courtesy calls on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his ongoing state visit to the Maldives.

In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi described his meeting with the Vice President as productive, highlighting discussions on key pillars of the India-Maldives partnership, including infrastructure, technology, climate change, and energy. He noted that cooperation in these areas is delivering tangible benefits to both countries and expressed hope for further strengthening bilateral ties.

Echoing this spirit of collaboration, Foreign Minister Khaleel reaffirmed the Maldivian Government’s commitment to enhancing the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

The Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla and PM Modi acknowledged the longstanding ties between their respective legislatures. PM Modi welcomed the establishment of the India-Maldives Parliamentary Friendship Group in the 20th Parliament and reiterated India’s support for parliamentary capacity-building in the Maldives.

These high-level engagements underscore the shared resolve to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors and further strengthen the multifaceted relationship between the Maldives and India.
