Police have seized a significant quantity of prohibited vape products during a search of an apartment in the Hiyaa Flats, Hulhumalé, on Thursday night.

Authorities searched at around 9:14 p.m. following a report of domestic violence. During the operation, officers recovered 242 bottles of vape flavour from the residence.

The Government of the Maldives has banned the import, sale, distribution, possession, and gifting of vapes, with violations constituting criminal offences.

Police confirmed that the matter is being investigated as a separate case.
