Hulhumalé police carry out extensive checks and recoveries

The Maldives Police Service have released details of their monthly activity in July, providing an account of measures undertaken to maintain public safety and security in Hulhumalé Phase 1 and Phase 2.

In Phase 1, the police station conducted 21,458 location checks and completed 657 hours of foot patrol. During these operations, a total of 1,249 individuals were stopped, of whom 786 had previous records while 589 had no prior record.

The station also recovered a range of assets. These included two motorcycles valued at MVR 60,000, 11 mobile phones worth MVR 75,000, and five electronic items valued at MVR 10,000. In addition, MVR 1,925 in cash and 42 miscellaneous items, such as identification cards and cash cards, were recovered.

Meanwhile, Phase 2 police activities involved 8,030 location checks and 470 hours and 25 minutes of foot patrol. Officers stopped 389 individuals, with 300 having previous records and 89 without prior records.

Recovered assets in Phase 2 included MVR 62,045 in cash and other items, along with one item valued at MVR 3,900. These results demonstrate the continued focus of both police stations on monitoring the city, preventing crime, and recovering stolen property.
